This was our first time cruising around the Caribbean Islands and we would certainly recommend this trip. We flew from Gatwick airport to Barbados then met our ship the Britannia. We had inside cabins which gave us plenty of space especially the disabled cabin, however we would have preferred balcony cabins but…. are always booked up very early. The ship was huge but we took our time to get to know where everything was located and then it became much easier.
The food and entertainment was very good all around the ship, we chose freedom dining so was not restricted to venue or times to eat. Our Cabin steward Leanora was very friendly, helpful and always had a smile. Our cabins were attended twice daily.
Our ports of call included: Curacoa, Aruba, Tobago, Saint Vincent, Saint Lucia, Grenada, Saint Kitts, Antigua, Martinique and Barbados. We arranged all our own tours with the local taxi people when we came ashore with the exception of one. We found in hindsight that we got a much better service, the local people knew the areas very well and tailor made stops of interest. On board the excursions manager did not communicate with us when we were trying to finalise arrangements for pre booked trips. In fact one of our customers had booked for 3 tours with accessible transport before leaving the Uk, our other customer also booked the same tours once on board. We were not informed that the chosen tours had been cancelled with the exception of Antigua and were left to locate the tour manager on the day. We made sure that he knew how dissatisfied we were with the lack of communication. The local tours are also half price compared to the cost of the tours booked on ship.
There is lots of information regarding this cruise on our website, go to the daily updates page and you will find comments and photographs of all the tours completed throughout the duration of our time in the beautiful Caribbean.
We all enjoyed our time here and will be booking again for 2019.
