This was a no flight cruise and we sailed from Southampton. We were all excited as we went on board this huge ship to find our cabins. It was very well organised and we found our luggage waiting for us. Everyone settled in and got on with the unpacking. Our cabins were spacious, with lots of room for two people in each one. We had lots of wardrobe space, and a good sized bathroom with shower.
Once this task was completed we changed and went looking for food and to explore our surrounding. The ship was beautiful, boasting 3 swimming pools on different decks, refreshments areas, BBQ. Elsewhere on the ship was a theatre, bars and restaurants. On the top deck (deck 18) there was basketball court, mini putting tent, for those that wanted to try their hand at golf, and many more places for activities and shops throughout this wonderful ship. The staff on board was brilliant, everyone friendly and eager to help. Our cabins were serviced twice daily, and it was a lovely touch each evening to return back to our cabins and find the bed linen turned down and fresh towels waiting. Our cabin steward was called Christopher and we can’t thank him enough.
The food was excellent and had lots of choices, whether this was in the buffet at breakfast or afternoon tea/dinner in the restaurants, and of course the nightly entertainment was enjoyed by all. The crossing was a little choppy at the start of our journey but we soon forgot about this a few days in. Our party went off shore once we reached Lanzarotte, Gran Canaria, La Palma, Maderia, Lisbon and Vigo. We didn’t book any excursions as we preferred to explore ourselves and what fun we had.
Some members of our group were cruising for the first time, and as they said “it will not be their last” It was a pleasure to see them enjoying every minute of our time both on and off the ship. Our group agreed that they will definitely be choosing a cruise again.
